Audience: Teachers with School and District subscriptions
Use Gradebook (formerly known as Progress) with your classes to easily view and understand student progress in Seesaw. Gradebook is available to all teachers and administrators with Seesaw school and district subscriptions. To access, tap the Gradebook tab when logged into your Seesaw account from a web browser.

With Gradebook, teachers and admins can:
- Aid students in staying on track by pinpointing missing or incomplete activities.
- Target further instruction where it’s needed most.
- Teachers can also filter and monitor student progress by Student Group (if using the feature).
- Know who’s completed what, all in one view.
Within Gradebook, there are two views: Activities View and Standards View
- Activities View provides a complete overview of student progress on Activities assigned to classes in Seesaw.
- Standards View tracks student mastery of standards.

- Tap the Gradebook tab.
- Tap Activities View.
- Filter by date range in the upper left corner.
- Filter by student name, student group, Standards or Activities. Users can search within a filter and choose one filter or multiple filters at once.
The Standards View provides a complete overview of student progress on key standards tagged to posts in Seesaw classes.

- Filter by date range in the upper left corner.
- Filter by student name, student group, or Standard. Users can search within a filter and choose one filter or multiple filters at once.
Who can use Gradebook?
Gradebook is a premium Seesaw feature available to teachers and admins with school and district subscriptions, and can view the Gradebook tab for each class they have access to.
Gradebook is not visible to students or families.
Teachers can tap on a student’s name to copy a report from the Activities View or Standards View to share with students or families as needed.
Students can go to the To-Do section in their Activities tab to see what activities they need to complete. Students and families cannot see Standards that are tagged to Activities.
Can I use Gradebook on the iOS or Android app?
Yes, Gradebook is available on the Seesaw mobile app.
Can I export Gradebook data out of Seesaw?
Yes, Gradebook data can be exported as a CSV file and imported into the spreadsheet system of your choice. Learn more about what you can export and how on the below Help Center pages:

Can I view links to student responses in bulk?
By following the steps above to export Gradebook data in bulk, you can view all Student Post url's in CSV format.
Where did the Progress tab go?
In July 2025, the Progress tab was replaced by the Gradebook tab. The feature's functionality has not changed in any way; only the name has changed to better reflect what this feature is about.
