Audience: Teachers
Formative Assessment provides immediate Learning Insights for teachers: once students complete their assignment, teachers get automated, easy to understand reporting on who understands and who needs more support.
🌟 New to Formative Assessment? Start with our Formative Assessment overview.
With Formative Assessment reporting, teachers can:
- View students grouped by correct, incorrect, and no response.
- Check the number of attempts a student made to get the correct answer.
- Uncover misconceptions by clicking on student responses.
- View scores and understand progress across multiple activities.
Teachers and admins can see a summary of Assessment results for an entire class by going to the Activities tab and tapping the Review button next to an assigned Activity. Summaries will be available if Activities have graded Formative Assessment questions and. at least one student response.
Within the summary, the drop down can be used to filter by specific students, and the arrow can be used to view the next/previous student's results.
Who can see it: Teachers and admins can see all reporting.
How do I access it: In the summary view of each assignment.
Good to know: For assignments with multiple questions, teachers can view both the Class Overall score as well as per-question reporting.
Tapping on a specific question within the summary will bring up a more detailed summary for that question.
This includes how many tries each student needed to answer correctly, which questions were answered incorrectly most often, and groups students who answered incorrectly together beneath their respective incorrect responses to help admins and teachers see which students need more help.
Who can see it: Teachers and admins can see all reporting.
The student post view shows both the overall score and question details for a particular post within an activity. Reporting details can be hidden by tapping on the left column to minimize it from view (for instance if sharing an assignment with the class as a teaching tool).
Who can see it: Teachers and admins can see all reporting. Students and families only see reporting on their or their child’s work after it has been approved by the teacher.
🌟 Check out Getting Started with Progress for a more detailed overview of the Progress tab.
The view includes a selectable date range, the activity name, a color coded highlight of each student's score, and a star rating for any graded standards for each activity.
The Standards view includes names of each student, the standards tagged to activities in the class, the number of pieces of work each student has completed with that tagged standard, and a color coded star rating for the most recent proficiency rating for each standard.
Activities or Standards data can be downloaded as a CSV from the Progress tab by clicking the Export button.
