Audience: Admins with district subscriptions using Clever, ClassLink, or Wonde to roster and Admins with school subscriptions using Wonde to roster
Admins using Clever, ClassLink, or Wonde to roster and create classes can use the Roster Sync Dashboard to manage their sync; run a sync, pause the nightly sync, or view and resolve errors.
ℹ️ Note: Admins are only able to sign in on a computer, not the Seesaw app.
Login as a Seesaw Administrator
1. Navigate to app.seesaw.me on a computer.
2. Click I’m a Seesaw for Schools Administrator and sign in.
3. Select the Roster Sync tab.
Roster Sync Dashboard Overview
Roster Sync Controls
The Roster Sync Controls are three buttons above the Roster Sync Table that allow you to:

Refresh
- Tap the Refresh button (circular arrow) to refresh the Roster Sync Table. This is helpful if you have recently adjusted your sharing rules in Clever/ClassLink/Wonde and are looking for numbers in your Shared Data Summary to update.

Pause or Resume Nightly Sync
- Tap the Nightly Sync button to pause or resume the Nightly Sync for all syncing schools.

Run Partial Sync
- Tap the Run Partial Sync button to sync changes made to your data since the last sync for all syncing schools.
- Tap the down arrow next to the Run Partial Sync button, then tap 'Run Full Sync' to initiate a hard refresh of your Clever/ClassLink/Wonde shared data in Seesaw. This sync will exactly match what is shared via Clever/ClassLink/Wonde and is typically done at the beginning of a new school year.
Roster Sync Table
Below the Roster Sync Controls is the Roster Sync Table. The Roster Sync table contains the Shared Data Summary and School Sync Controls for each school included in your school data. Districts will also see a row of data at the top of the Roster Sync Table for their district.
District customers: please note, the user counts on the Roster Sync Dashboard show how many users of each type are ready to sync from your shared data into Seesaw. You may notice some differences between the user numbers in Clever/ClassLink/Wonde and Seesaw. This is because users linked to multiple schools may be counted differently in Clever/ClassLink/Wonde . In the Roster Sync Dashboard, user counts are first calculated at the School level, and then combined for a total District count.
Shared Data Summary
The first 5-6 columns in the Roster Sync Table are your Shared Data Summary.
- The School Name column shows the name of the school as it appears in your shared data.
- The Classes column shows the number of classes shared to the school in your shared data.
- The Teachers column shows the number of users in your shared data who will sync to the school in Seesaw as teachers.
- The Students column shows the number of users in your shared data who will sync to the school in Seesaw as students.
- The Admins column shows the number of users in your shared data who will sync to the school in Seesaw as Seesaw Admin.
- If you have enabled Family Sharing in your Roster Sync Settings, the Families column will appear and show how many student contacts in your shared data will sync to Seesaw.
School Sync Controls
The remaining four columns in the Roster Sync Table are your School Sync Controls. For districts, these allow Seesaw administrators to manage the sync and resolve errors for individual schools without impacting all schools.

Sync Status
Sync status allows admin to view how the sync is performing at a glance.- Syncing Nightly
- Seesaw is syncing nightly with your shared data and there are no errors.
- Syncing with Errors
- Seesaw is syncing nightly with your shared data, however, there are data errors for you to review.
- On Hold
- Seesaw is blocked from syncing nightly with your shared data due to critical errors. You will need to review and resolve the errors and re-run the sync to clear the hold and resume syncing nightly.
- Nightly Sync Paused
- The nightly sync between Seesaw and your shared data is currently paused. You will need to manually resume the Nightly Sync.
- Not Set Up
- There is a school in your shared data that is not set up to sync with a Seesaw school dashboard. If this school is part of your subscription and should be set up to sync, please reach out to Seesaw Support.
- Syncing Nightly

Nightly Sync Time
- Tap the button in the Nightly Sync column to pause or resume the Nightly Sync for an individual school.

Nightly Sync Time can be selected to occur at either exactly at 8 PM or 12 AM local time.

Sync Errors
- If there are errors impacting the sync, the Sync Errors column will contain: the total number of errors impacting the school's sync, a View Errors link, and a button to download the error data as a .csv.
- Tap the View Errors link to access the Errors details page.
- The Errors details page contains more information about the errors impacting the school's sync. From the Errors details page, tap 'Re-run Sync' to re-run the sync and clear errors.
- Tap the button next to View Errors to download the error data as a .csv
- Tap the View Errors link to access the Errors details page.
- If there are errors impacting the sync, the Sync Errors column will contain: the total number of errors impacting the school's sync, a View Errors link, and a button to download the error data as a .csv.

Manual Syncs
- Tap the three dots ('...') in the Manual Sync column, then tap 'Run Partial Sync' to run a Partial Sync for that school or tap 'Run Full Sync' to run a Full Sync for that school.
What’s the difference between a Full Sync, Nightly Sync, and Partial Sync?
- Full Sync: Tap the down arrow next to the 'Run Partial Sync' button, then tap 'Run Full Sync' to initiate a hard refresh of your Clever/ClassLink/Wonde shared data in Seesaw. This sync will exactly match what is shared via Clever/ClassLink/Wonde and is typically done at the beginning of a new school year. District customers can also tap the three dots across from the name of a school, then tap 'Run Full Sync' to run a Full Sync at that school only. Full Syncs are manually initiated by Seesaw admin.
- Nightly Sync: The Nightly Sync will only sync brand new data added to Clever/ClassLink/Wonde’s sharing in the last 24 hours. It will not refresh past data that is already synced to Seesaw. Seesaw automatically syncs nightly with Clever/ClassLink/Wonde.
- Partial Sync: Tap the 'Run Partial Sync' button to sync changes made to your data since the last sync. District customers can also tap the three dots across from the name of a school, then tap 'Run Partial Sync' to run a Partial Sync at that school only. A Partial Sync will only sync brand new data added since the last sync. It will not refresh past data that is already synced to Seesaw. Partial Syncs are manually initiated by Seesaw admin.
Roster Sync Settings
Districts using Clever, ClassLink, or Wonde to roster can access additional Roster Sync Settings from their District Settings.
Schools using Wonde to roster can access additional Roster Sync Settings from their Schoolwide Settings.
