How do students join class with email or SSO

Students will sign in to Seesaw using their email address or SSO Account. We recommend Email/SSO Sign In only if students can remember their email address and password independently (Grades 4 and higher).

How Students Connect to Your Class

If you are using the Email/SSO Sign In option, get the Join Code for your class by tapping the '+ Students' button on the bottom right. For security, the Join Code is valid for 7 days. If the time limit expires, you can always get another Join Code.

If you created your class using the Google Classroom import option, students will simply sign in to their Google account to view your class.

To join your class, students will:

  1. Open the Seesaw app ­­or go to h​ttp://app.seesaw.me ​on Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browser.
  2. Tap I'm a Student.
  3. Enter the class text code in the Text Code box and tap 'Go'.

  4. Choose their SSO option, or create an account by entering name, email, password, and confirm the password.
  5. Tap Create Account.

If students already have a Seesaw Account, joining your class will be a bit different:

  1. Open the Seesaw app or go to h​ttp://app.seesaw.me ​on Chrome, or Firefox, or Edge browser.
  2. Tap I'm a Student.
  3. Enter email or select an SSO option. 

  4. Tap the profile icon (top left).
  5. Tap + Join Class.
  6. Enter the class text code provided by the teacher.
  7. Tap Join Class.

** Students only need to use the Join code to join your class once. After they enter the Join Code the first time, they will stay connected to your class and will only need to sign in with their email address/SSO to access your class moving forward.
