Seesaw D2L LTI Integration Setup for Admins

• District Admin can set up their LTI connection from the District Dashboard
• Teachers can set up their Class connections (1:1 class mapping)
• Teachers can create assignments / search Seesaw Library in D2L
• Students can respond to assignments/activities in D2L
• Teachers can grade assignments in Gradebook in D2L

Only District Administrators will be able to set up this integration.

1. In Seesaw, tap District Wide Settings on the District Dashboard under Admin Tools.
2. Tap LMS Integration.
3. Select D2L Brightspace and click Next.

Next, go to D2L and log into your D2L account.
1. Tap on the Settings button (gear icon top right)
2. Tap on Manage Extensibility
3. Tap on LTI Advantage Tab
4. Tap on the Register Tool button
5. Select Standard checkbox 

Next, complete the Register Tool form by entering the following information. (Copy/paste the bold items below; please know that some links are not clickable)

• Enabled: On
• Name: Seesaw
• Domain: https://app.seesaw.me
• Redirect URLs: https://app.seesaw.me/api/lti/launch
• OpenID Connect Login URL: https://app.seesaw.me/api/lti/oidc
• Target Link URL: https://app.seesaw.me/api/lti/launch
• Keyset URL: https://app.seesaw.me/.well-known/d2l.json
• Extensions: Assignment and Grade Services, Deep Linking, Names and Role Provisioning Services
• Roles: Send Institution Role
• Tap the Register button

After the Registering tool, take note of the Client ID that is under the Brightspace Registration Details section. (It will be needed for the next few steps)

Next, Tap on the View Deployments link (under Brightspace Registration Details section) Tap New Deployment button. 

Enter the following Inputs:

• Enabled: On
• Tool: Seesaw
• Name: Seesaw
• Extensions: Assignment and Grade Services, Deep Linking, Names and Role Provisioning Services
• Security Settings: mark only the following options
  • Org Unit Information
  • User Information
    • Name
    • First Name
    • Middle Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • User ID
    • Username
    • Org Defined ID
  • Link Information
    • Title
    • Description
• Configuration Settings: Grades created by LTI will be included in Final Grade, Auto Create Grade Items
• Tap Add Orgs Units
  • Tap on Choose Org Unit Type and select Organization
  • Mark your org/orgs and on the options column mark This org unit and all descendants
  • Tap Add button
  • Tap on the Create Deployment button

Next on the same view click on the View Links link, tap on the New Link button

First Link (required)

• Enable: ON
• Name: Seesaw
• URL: https://app.seesaw.me/api/lti/launch
• Type: Deep Linking Quicklink
  • Width: 1000
  • Height: 750
• Tap Save and Close button

Second Link (optional) Tap New Link button and enter the following inputs:

• Enable: On
• Name: Seesaw
• URL: https://app.seesaw.me/api/lti/launch
• Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff
• Tap Save and Close button

Next, return to Seesaw and follow these steps: 

1. Go to the LMS Integration view
2. Enter the Client ID from the Registration Tool on the Seesaw Client ID input
3. Tap Set Up D2L Integration

Congratulations! Seesaw and D2L are now integrated!
