Audience: District Admins and School Admins
There are two types of administrator accounts in Seesaw: School Administrator and District Administrator. On an individual School Dashboard, School Admins and District Admins have the same management capabilities. District Admins also have additional district-wide tools and permissions.
Seesaw Administrator accounts give school and district leaders access to dashboards, settings, rostering tools, messaging controls, and engagement insights. Depending on your role, you may have access to one school or multiple schools across a district.
School Admins are synced from Clever/ClassLink to Seesaw automatically. District Admins are not synced from Clever/ClassLink to Seesaw automatically.

FAQs
What data is available to Admins?
Admins can view all active and archived classes connected to their school, along with student and teacher accounts enrolled in those classes. They can also view connected family members, standards announcements, and engagement analytics.
How current is the data?
Most dashboard data updates within 24 hours.
How far back can an admin view historic data?
Admins can view data from any previous school year as long as the class belongs to their school and still exists in Seesaw (including archived classes).
What does archived mean?
Archived classes and students remain accessible on the dashboard but are considered inactive. They are removed from teacher and student class lists and do not count toward license totals.
Who can archive classes and students?
Teachers can archive classes. Admins can archive classes and students.
Note: Clever/ClassLink classes can only be archived by Admin (or the sync).
Can teachers change schoolwide settings?
No. Settings managed at the school or district level are locked and cannot be changed by teachers. Teachers can still modify settings that are not centrally managed.
