Audience: Teachers
To move students during the school year, you will need to add them to their new class. You can choose to leave them in the old class as well, or remove them from the old class.

- Remove Student from Existing Class (Optional): Instructions HERE
Important Considerations
-
Student journals: Journals stay in the class where they're created. Moving a student starts a new journal in the new class.
- Teachers and Admins with paid subscriptions will have access to each of their journals from both active and archived classes through the Historic Data feature.
-
Old/Multiple Classes: Students can be in multiple classes. If you leave the student in the old class, they retain access to their work.
- Teachers and Admins with paid subscriptions can also still see this work connected to the student using Historic Data feature.
-
Removing Students: Removed students lose access to their old work, but the work remains visible to teachers.
- Teachers and Admins with paid subscriptions can also still see this work connected to the student using Historic Data feature.
-
Non-email/Google Student: For Seesaw Starter, removing a student means that their account and access to posts will be lost. Notify parents to download their child's work before removal. Parents will not have access to their child's posts after they are removed.
- When a student on a school and district paid subscription is removed from a class, the student will remain on the school dashboard.
Reminder: For info on how this works for Seesaw Starter and paid subscriptions, see this article.
