Managing Activities and Content settings for district

audience.png Audience: District Admins

Activities and Content settings allow District Admins to set district-wide defaults for Class Settings to manage library access, Youtube for Education videos, and Creative Tools.

Creating and modifying activities

When an administrator disables sharing to the District Library for teachers, teachers will no longer see an option to share activities to their District Library. However, they can continue to share activities to their School Libraries. Note: in instances where a user is both a teacher and an admin, they will still be able to post to the District Library.

  1. In District Wide Settings, select Activities and Content.
  2. Under Creating and modifying activities, select Enabled to allow, or Disabled to prevent sharing to the District Library.

Accessing YouTube for Education

Teachers and admins can search for qualifying Youtube for Education videos in Seesaw. When an administrator disables this feature, teachers will no longer see an option to share activities to their District Library.

  1. In District Wide Settings, select Activities and Content.
  2. Under Accessing YouTube for Education, select one from the dropdown menu: Let Schools Decide, Enabled, Disabled.

Creating and modifying user content: students can generate link previews in Creative Tools
Admins can prevent students from generating link previews in Creative Tools and link message attachments.

  1. In District Wide Settings, select Activities and Content.
  2. Under Creating and modifying user content, select one from the dropdown menu: Let Schools Decide, Enabled, Disabled.

Accessing the Community Library

The Community Library consists of free teacher-created activities from our community of Seesaw Ambassadors and Seesaw Certified Educators. Enable this setting if you'd like your school to be able to use the Community Library. When an administrator disables access to the Community Library, teachers will no longer see the Community Library tab when looking for activities. Ambassadors and Certified Educators will still see the option to share activities to the Community Library, but they will not be able to view the Community Library.

  1. In District Wide Settings, select Activities and Content.
  2. Under Accessing the Community Library, select one from the dropdown menu: Let Schools Decide, Enabled, Disabled.
