How do I manage comments on posts?

By default, all new student comments on posts require teacher approval before they are shared with families or posted. Additionally, all new family comments require teacher approval by default. If needed, teachers can delete an inappropriate comment from the approval queue. Teachers receive push notifications (if enabled) when there is a new comment. 

As with any tool that gives students freedom, we recommend setting appropriate expectations with your students. 

  1. In Class Settings, teachers can enable or disable student comments, and enable or disable if those comments need teacher approval. If enabled, when a student or family member leaves a comment, their posts will be marked as “pending approval”.

     
  2. Assuming all options are enabled, upon logging in, a banner on the bottom of the screen will appear if there are items waiting for teacher review and approval.  The Notifications tab will also show any unviewed notifications.

     
  3. Teachers can approve or delete individual comments, or approve/delete in bulk.
