Self-Serve Custom Standards

Schools and districts can upload their own Custom Standards to their dashboards, providing more flexibility over their Standards and their Dashboards.

  • Upload and manage your district’s or school’s unique Standards directly within the Dashboard
  • Seamlessly integrate custom Standards into lesson planning, assessment tracking and reporting
  • Empower educators with full control over curriculum alignment and ashboard displays
How to add Custom Standards
  1. In District Admin Tools, tap on District Wide Settings.
  2. Navigate to Standards and Grading. Tap the Upload Custom Set (CSV) button.
  3. Follow the prompt to download a template in either Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  4. Export the file as a CSV.
  5. Add your Custom Standards to the template.
🚩Please confirm that all Standards have:
    1. Grade: Required. Choose from one of the available options in the drop-down. If standards are shared across grade levels, include them for every grade level you need to support.
    2. Subject: Required. Subject area. Ex: ELA, Early Childhood, Math, Science, Technology
    3. Code: Required. A unique code or identifier for the standard. This should not be shared across standards. This allows teachers to search via code and will support in data roll ups at the class, school, and district level. Ex: LITERACY.RF.3.3.
    4. Description: Required. A more detailed description of the standard. This allows teachers to search by keyword/description when tagging standards and reviewing student work. Ex: I can show what I have learned about letters and sounds by figuring out words.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Name your Standard Set.
⚠️ Please note: the name field cannot be blank or the same as other Standard Sets.
💡Best practice: include your district or school name to keep Standards organized.

FAQs

I have custom Standards but am not on the SI&I or Seesaw LMS package.
If you are a Seesaw for Schools user and currently have custom Standards applied to your Dashboard, you will maintain access to Custom Standard sets that were already uploaded prior to this release. An upgrade to Seesaw LMS or SI&I is required to be able to upload new custom Standard Sets OR modify existing ones.

How do I learn more about purchasing a package so I can take advantage of this feature?
If you are interested in upgrading to use Custom Standards, please reach out to your Account Manager.

Is there a limit to the number of Custom Standards I can upload?
There is no limit.

How are templates configured to reflect regional settings?
Templates are populated based on the Regional Settings for a school/district. If a district needs multiple regional templates, change the Regional Setting and a new template will populate in the Custom Standards flow. Districts/Schools can have multiple regional templates uploaded.

How do I edit Standards after they've been uploaded?
🚩 Once Standards are uploaded, they cannot be added to, or edited. If you need to make changes, remove the necessary Standard Sets and upload a new one. Please note: the new Standards must have a new/different name.
