Audience: District Administrators with district subscriptions
Districts rostering with Clever can view errors under Manage Roster Sync in the District Dashboard.
To resolve these errors:
1. Tap View errors to read the error and resolution.
2. Make the changes required to your data in Clever or your Seesaw dashboard per the instructions under resolution. To learn more about how to resolve specific errors, click here.
3. Most errors will require a 're-sync' after you have made the required changes to your data. You can re-sync by tapping re-run sync from the view errors screen under Manage Roster Sync OR tap Manage Roster Sync > click the three dots next to the school you updated > click Full sync.
⚠️ Please note: If you run a full Sync for a school, or click the district 'Full Sync' button, this will re-sync all classes in Seesaw and update enrollments to match exactly what is in Clever. Students who were manually added to classes will be removed. Do not re-sync if you do not want to remove manually added students.
If you see any of the errors below, please follow the listed resolution steps.
| The associated user is using an email address that does not contain a trusted domain for this school. | Follow the steps on how to add a trusted domain to your school or your district. Note: generic domains cannot be added to your trusted domains list. |
| Unexpected Error | An unexpected error has prevented your sync. Complete a full sync to resolve. |
| More than 50 admins shared with Seesaw | Seesaw supports up to 50 administrators per school. Remove any unneeded administrators from the dashboard and make sure you are sharing less than 50 administrators in your third party rostering provider. |
| Students being merged have an email that does not contain a trusted domain for this school | Follow the steps on how to add a trusted domain to your school or your district. Note: generic domains cannot be added to your trusted domains list. |
| [Account type (ex. Teacher)] missing email or school | Make sure the impacted accounts have both an email and a school associated with them in your third party rostering provider. |
| Family invite was unsuccessful | Make sure family emails and mobile numbers are valid. |
| [Account type (ex. Teacher)] is missing from shared data | If the impacted account should be shared and is not, update your sharing. |
| [Data (ex. Student ID)] re-used for different student accounts | Two students are using the same data in your SIS. Please ensure that data is unique for each student. |
| More than [X] classes for an [account type]. | Remove classes that are not needed or update sharing to reflect the appropriate amount of classes. |
| More than [X] [account type] in a class. | Remove extra teachers or students or update sharing to reflect the appropriate amount of users. |
| A person cannot be both a teacher and a student in a class. | Make sure that impacted teachers are not listed as students in the class and that impacted students are not listed as teachers. |
| [Account type] is in a school that is not set up in Seesaw. | If the school should be set up, please reach out to Seesaw Support. Otherwise, resync to clear the error. |
| Class missing class name | Make sure that all classes have a class name. |
| The associated student has already reached the maximum family limit of [X] | Remove additional family members before attempting to add more. |
| The associated student is not in the specified organization or district. | Check your Third Party Rostering setup and ensure that the impacted student is in the specified school or district. |
| No Admins found in your School | Ensure that at least one administrator is being shared to the impacted school. Or disable Admin sharing. |
| Over 30 days since last sync | Run a full sync to clear errors and resume your nightly sync. |
| Archived students being restored have an email that does not contain a trusted domain for this school. | If the student is using an email that has a trusted domain, add the domain to your school or district trusted domains list. Note: generic domains cannot be added to your trusted domains list. |
| Student missing SIS ID | Ensure that each student has a SIS ID in your SIS and that the SIS ID is shared with Clever. |
The following errors will only occur if you are syncing family members. These cannot be resolved by administrators or Seesaw and will need to be resolved by the impacted family member.
| Family member email cannot be updated | This occurs when the phone number in Seesaw matches the SIS but the email does not. |
| Family member phone number cannot be updated | This occurs when the email in Seesaw matches the SIS but the phone number does not. |
| Family missing email and phone number | This occurs when the shared family member does not have an email or phone number listed in the SIS. |
Any errors not listed above will need to be resolved by Seesaw Support. Please reach out for additional assistance.
