Audience: Teachers
There are several ways to add students to your class, depending on how your classroom is set up. Choose the section below that matches your workflow.
Add existing students from School Directory (Seesaw subscriptions)
Teachers with Seesaw subscriptions can add students who are already in their School Directory to their classes.
- Tap the wrench icon and select Manage Students.
- Tap Add Students.
- Search for students by name, email address, or student ID.
- Select the students you'd like to add to your class.
Can't find a student? Follow the steps below to create a new student.
Create a new student (Seesaw Starter and Seesaw subscriptions)
If the student you're looking for isn't listed in your School Directory, or you don't have a Schoo Directory, you can create a new student.
- In the Add Students window, scroll to the bottom of the search results and tap Create a New Student.
- Tip: If search results appear but don't include the correct student, continue scrolling to the bottom to find Create a New Student.
- Enter the student's first name and last name.
- Enter a Student ID. If your school doesn't use Student IDs, enter another unique identifier, such as the student's first and last name.
- Select the student's sign-in method.
- Tap Create New Student.
Google Classroom: import and sync students
If you imported your class from Google Classroom when creating your Seesaw class, your students were automatically added and can sign in using their Google accounts.
If you add more students to your Google Classroom later, you can sync your roster again:
- Tap the wrench icon.
- Select Import from Google Classroom.
