How to utilise the Creative Canvas

The Creative Canvas is a fun, easy-to-use tool that allows you to engage your students and stimulate all types of learners in the classroom! For more information about everything that you can do with the Creative Canvas, please take a look at the chart below:

Editing multiple objects at once

Objects on the Creative Canvas can be changed in bulk by using the multi-select tool option. To select multiple objects simply click and drag your mouse over the objects you want to change. This allows teachers to:

  • Bulk select and move a single object or group of objects, including locked objects by pressing the command key
  • Bulk select and align groups of objects to centre, left, right, top or bottom.
  • Bulk select and reorder groups of objects.
  • Bulk select and change lock status on groups of objects (unlocked, lock all for students, move only).
  • Bulk select and change colour on groups of objects.
  • When bulk selecting items of the same type (e.g. all labels), change Styles like font, text style, border type, etc.
  • Multi-select is not supported on touch-only devices. If the device has a keyboard attached, you can use shift+tap to select multiple items.

A note on Accessibility

If you have a student or family member who uses assistive technologies in your class, please be sure to add captions or voice captions to all multimedia posts.

When using the Creative Canvas, consider adding a caption or voice caption to your drawing to make it accessible. Learn how to do so here.
