Audience: Teachers with Seesaw Instruction & Insights
Teachers with SI&I accounts can use the Focus Mode tool to provide a minimal distraction experience for students, helping them avoid being overwhelmed with tools. Teachers can choose which tools are available on each page or opt for no tools. When all tools are selected to be unavailable, students can still answer assessment questions and complete Frames.Want this feature? Speak to your Admin about upgrading to SI&I!
How to add Focus Mode to an Activity
- Tap the green +Add button.
- Tap Create Activity or Assessment.
- Tap the Creative Canvas button.
- Design your Activity in the Creative Canvas.
- Tap on the three dots on the page switcher.
- Select Focus Mode.
- Select any tools that should not be available to students, and tap Save. You can also check the Hide All Tools checkbox.
Please note: This is a “per page” setting, so teachers can curate each page with tools as desired.
What happens if an Activity with Focus Mode is shared with a teacher who doesn't have Seesaw Instruction and Insights?
In this scenario, the Activities sent to a teacher without SI&I can be viewed and assigned, but not edited.
