Using AI Messages Assistant in Messages & Announcements

audience.png  Audience: Teachers and Admins

The AI Messages Assistant helps teachers and administrators draft Messages and Announcements more quickly. It can generate class newsletters, reminders, announcements, learning tips, and other family communications that you can review and edit before sending.

Generated content is automatically translated into recipients' preferred languages (100+ supported languages) and supports rich text formatting such as bold, italics, and bulleted lists.

Before you begin

School and district administrators control access to AI features. If you don't see Write with AI, contact your administrator.

Write with AI

You can use the AI Messages Assistant when creating either a Message or an Announcement.

  1. Open a new Message or Announcement.
  2. Select Write with AI.
  3. Choose one of the suggested prompt chips or enter your own prompt.
  4. Describe what you'd like to communicate.
  5. Select Generate.
  6. Review the generated content.
  7. Edit the text if needed, then send your Message or Announcement.

Use Suggested Prompts

Prompt chips provide quick starting points for common classroom communications.

Examples include:

  • Reminder
  • Home Learning Tips
  • Behavior Challenge
  • Class Newsletter

After selecting a prompt, add any details you want included, then select Generate.

Use Your Own Prompt

You aren't limited to the suggested prompts. Describe exactly what you'd like the AI assistant to write.

For example:

  • Remind families that students should bring headphones tomorrow.
  • Write an announcement about Picture Day on Friday.
  • Tell families our class will visit the science museum next Tuesday.
  • Create a friendly reminder to return library books by Monday.
  • Write a weekly classroom update highlighting what students learned this week.

The more specific your prompt, the more useful the generated content will be.

Edit or Generate Again

After content is generated, you can:

  • Edit any portion of the text before sending.
  • Generate a new version if you'd like a different result.
  • Add your own personal details to make the message more specific to your classroom.

AI-generated content is intended to save time while giving you complete control over the final message.

For the best results:
