Teachers can tag (add) Standards to Activities and student posts to align student work with learning goals and track student progress.
Standards are set at the district level by district Administrators. Teachers cannot create Standards, but they can review, add, and remove Standards from Activities and tag Standards to Activities and student posts. Once Standards are tagged, you can use them to assess student work and track progress in the Gradebook.

Important: Standards are associated with the grade level selected when you add them. If you assign the Activity to a class in a different grade level, you'll need to add the Standards again during the assign flow.
Teachers can add a maximum of 10 Standards per Activity or Student Post.
Adding Standards to Activities from the Seesaw Library
- When assigning an Activity, navigate to the Standards icon (graduation cap) under Organize.
- Tap Edit.
- To add Standards, toggle on All Standards.
- To search Standards, filter by state, grade, subject, or search by code or description. Filters are defaulted to the grade level of the teacher's class, but teachers can add Standards from any grade.
- Tap the checkbox of any Standard you want to add.
- Tap Save Tags.
Removing auto-tagged Standards on Activities from the Seesaw Library
Activities from Seesaw's Library may already have Standards applied to them.
- Standards are displayed in the Activity view of all Activities from the Seesaw Resource Library.
- When assigning an Activity, navigate to the Standards icon (graduation cap) under Organize.
- Tap Edit.
- Uncheck any Standards you want to remove.
Tagging Standards to a new Activity
- While in the Create Activity flow, navigate to Standards and tap Choose.
- Search for Standards, and filter by state, grade, subject, or search by code or description.
- Tap the checkbox of any Standard you want to add, and tap Save Tags.
Tagging Standards to a Student post
- In the Student Journal, go to a student post.
- Tap on the Standards icon (graduation cap).
- Search for Standards, and filter by state, grade, subject, or search by code or description.
- Tap the checkbox of any Standard you want to add, and tap the green Check.
