How to use Google Apps or Google Drive with Seesaw on iOS mobile devices

Teachers and students using Seesaw on iOS mobile devices can add work created in Google apps like Docs, Slides, or Sheets directly into Seesaw portfolios! Additionally, any supported file types that have been added to Drive are also accessible by following the below steps.

Mobile Device Technical Requirements
  • iOS users must have the Google Drive app installed on their phone.
  • iOS users must toggle Google Drive on in Settings (go to Browse/Locations).
  • Note: if a user has connected other file locations on their device, they can access them by tapping browse in the upper left corner and then toggle on Google Drive if it's defaulting to a different location.

  • The Seesaw app will only upload files from the Google Drive associated with the user's device.
  • To upload files from a Shared Google Drive, add a shortcut to the individual Shared Drive file to your personal Google Drive.
How to Upload a Google File
  1. Tap the green +Add button to add a new post and select either: Add to Student Journal, Assign Activity, or Create Activity or Assessment.

  2. Tap Upload

  3. Tap Browse. You will need to sign in to your Google account before you can browse files in your Google Drive.

  4. Browse and Select a file from your Google Drive.
  5. The content of the file will be added to the Creative Canvas.
