Audience: School and District Administrators with Seesaw subscriptions
Wonde rostering allows schools and districts to create new classes in Seesaw using the pupil data you have already entered into your MIS. Syncing Seesaw and Wonde allows you to set up teachers, students, and classes at your school or multiple schools in your District at the same time and automatically update enrollments when students move classes or join your school. This method is quicker and easier than creating accounts one at a time or uploading a CSV file of pupil data.
⚠️ We highly recommend creating new classes each year and archiving old ones instead of reusing the previous year's classes. Before you create any new classes for the upcoming school year, double-check that you have completed the steps in our End of Year Guide.
Please note, if you are rostering midyear we do not recommend using Wonde. Instead, please add existing teachers so their classes will not be interrupted and CSV imports for any new classes.

Before syncing with Wonde
If you've previously rostered students with Seesaw, before you sync, make sure pupil data matches between Wonde and Seesaw.
Roster Sync identifies existing pupil accounts using any of the following identifiers:
- Student Email
- MIS ID
- Secondary MIS ID
- Tertiary MIS ID
-
Government ID
- Accessed via the regional_data object on the Wonde pupil
-
UPN (Unique Pupil Number)
- Accessed via the education_details object on the Wonde pupil
- UPI (Unique Pupil Identifier)
⚠️ Student accounts without a matching Student email address or ID in Wonde will result in duplicate Seesaw accounts.
