Ability to disable teachers from adding students to organization

I would like the ability to disable teachers from adding students to the organization and those have to be added via an admin user. Teachers can still add students to their classes but only ones that are already setup with accounts in the organization.

  • Yes! I have had teachers create entire classes without realising these had already been set up by me as an admin.

  • I agree! We just purchased and teachers are creating and duplicating or putting in ID as names and such.

  • This would be really useful. Teachers won't know what to pick for the Student ID field so often write in the student's name or some random numbers if we don't get the account created (manually, due to no integration with UK MISes via Wonde, Groupcall Xporter, etc.) and the student's QR Code given to the teacher quick enough.

  • Integrating with Wonde would solve these issues, classes could be created automatically without the spreadsheets and new students automatically created and added to their class. Teachers still create random classes that we don't want so understand the need for this - however SeeSaw only supports Clever and Classlink.

  • I am giving two thumbs up to this request.

We sync with PowerSchool through Clever. But when teachers don't see a student in the directory, they are given the option to create a student, causing a duplicate student to be created. Often, the teacher is just impatient and trying to add a new student before they have been added in PowerSchool and the sync completed.

Not having this feature adds a lot of time to the administrator's day to remove or merge accounts.  This restriction ensures that students cannot be entered until they are properly registered in the school or district.  Teachers like to jump the gun and create students the minute they hear a student is enrolling in the school, but they should wait 24 hours.  Its a shame that this was posted two years ago and still has yet to be fulfilled.
