Approval Required vs. Approve All

I would love to see the ability to choose which activities require approval and which activities do not. Some activities I am posting are read alouds or tech tips that don't require the students to create a response. I don't want to have to approve 25 of these for each assignment that doesn't have an additional activity to go with it. I know that if I post it as an announcement there is no approval, but I still want my post to show up as one of their activities for the day (not in their inbox). Right now I'm linking to a Google Doc where I can just post the link, but that is a lot of extra clicks and takes kids out of SeeSaw which can get confusing.

  • I agree! I’m an art teacher with over a 1,000 students on Seesaw and I have videos of art activities, read alouds, or video announcements that don’t require a student response. It’s driving my families and me crazy because they have to respond in some way to get the red Number dot to disappear. Please create an option for the teacher to make an assignment to not require a student response. Thank you!

  • I double agree!!  I am a school librarian who is new to Seesaw.  I will give an assignment that does not require a response to 400+ students.  There are not enough hours in a day to approve each response.  Imagine 400 students daily x 5 days per week.  This means 2,000 approvals per week?!!  Please fix this feature. There has to be a better way!  Frustrated.

  • Oh yes, PLEASE! I'm a Primary Librarian with 665 students, spending hours just approving posts that say "done".  Kids can't handle the incomplete red dot, so they are compelled to reply. I'm dreading making another assignment, and I am certain they won't think to look at "Inbox", even if I tell them to.

    Thanks.

  • Agree. I wonder if there could be an option when a teacher posts the activity to "Require Approval" or "Approval not required."

  • I was struggling with the same problem, but I found out how to take off the approval. You go to the upper right-hand corner in your seesaw class and click on the little wrench. Scroll down and under STUDENTS you'll see a section that says "New Items Require Approval" click on the green button next to it to turn it off. It should solve it. Hope this helps!
