Allow teachers to see a student's unfinished work

I have to assign different worksheets for different students depending on their varying academic levels, and it's hard for me to remember which students have which worksheets that I assigned. I also try to make sure every student has the same amount of leftover work to complete, but it's hard for me to keep track of that because all of my students work at their own pace.

Please give teachers the option to view each student's list of unfinished work.

Thank you very much for your time.

Thank you so much for this great feedback! Our team has just launched the Progress Dashboard, which allows teachers to view at-a-glance all the activities within their class, and which students have completed, started a draft, or not submitted work for each activity. This update is available online and for Seesaw for Schools and Plus users!

  • Hi Cassidy!

This would be incredibly helpful for my class! I feel like I spend far too much time trying to remember what each student has and keep track of it! This would help me and my classroom team out a ton! Thanks for bringing this up!

  • Totally agree. I have to click back through all of the activities to see what hasn't been done and create a spreadsheet based on it. I don't think it would be too hard to incorporate this right into Seesaw.

  • This would be amazing and allow parents to see students unfinished work!!

  • This would be incredibly helpful.  I have a couple of students who are so far behind and going back through everything that I assign is tedious.  I need one place to have them so that I can send their parents an e-mail,

    Thank you!

  • I agree! I have a student who barely turns in any work. I need an easy to find list of all his missing work so that I can speak to parents about it. It is too time consuming to go through every activity to see if one student is missing work. I believe students have notifications of all their assignments to do (aka unfinished work). I would like access to this list as well.

  • I need this! I have students that do supposed to do their work exclusively on Seesaw when quarantined, but it is extremely difficult to see how many assignements they didn't complete for the teacher

  • I agree...I am also looking for an efficient way to view an individual student's missing work.  Being able to go to each assignment to view missing assignments is a great feature, yet when I need to gather data on one child that is tedious. It seems it would be easy enough to work this into the program.  Thank you!

  • So, has this become available yet or being talked about?

  • I would love to be able to see the work students that is still out. I know I can click on the assignments, but this takes forever. I would love to be able to click on the journal or something like that to see what each child is still working on. It would help streamline how I work with the kids and how much time I'm spending going through all the assignments.

  • It would be AWESOME to see a list of student's unapproved work.  It would make missing homework much more transparent, and I could bring it up for students (and parents) to see right there in a list - name of activity & date assigned.

  • It would save me an average of an hour per day if I could see what a student has left in their activities and drafts folder.  Now I have to scroll thru the feed and write down who is missing what assignment OR log in as a student and write that down.  I agree with @Laurie Volpano above: "It would make missing homework much more transparent, and I could bring it up for students (and parents) to see right there in a list - name of activity & date assigned."

Please, Seesaw, I'm remote teaching and spending about 2 hours per day correcting Seesaw activities, commenting etc. This additional step will save me up to an hour per day.

  • Has there been any change on this?  This would save me so much time.  It seems like an easy fix since students already have this.
