    This doesn't occur already?

No, They don't see the comment until the work is approved.

I agree that students should be able to see comments when we send back their work.  I have been leaving comments on kids' work expecting them to read my suggestions and correct their work.  Today I found out that they can't read the comments, so my instructions to them have been useless.

WOW! I had no idea the students can't see my feedback! No wonder they aren't learning from my "reteaching" remarks and fixing their mistakes before re-posting. I guess I will have to stop leaving constructive comments. :(

I found how my students can see my comments. They have to go to their inbox and in the notifications, they can click to open up the activity and scroll down to see my comments.

I still wish it would show up in the to dos and drafts folders, but at least now I can show them where to look!

And while we're at it.....Can the teacher comments please be translated into the child's home language?!

You can see them on the journal page and by going into notifications.  Unfortunately, the most practical way for a child to know what to do is to go to the activity page.  A good feature update would be adding them there - I'm searching for that request now to upvote it or to make my own.

Does anyone have an update on this?  I am surprised that most students do respond to comments.  It must be very frustrating for them.  When are comments scheduled to be linked to the activity?  It seems like this would be one of the most important upgrades if Seesaw is to be used to communicate with students about their work and for students to reply.  In the past, I was disappointed that when they reply to me I had to go back and find or multiple click to see my original comments, and I am an adult.  Very surprising that students have to jump through so many hoops just to see which assignment a comment lines up with.

    I didn't know this either.

    Thank you for the tips.

I hope this is updated soon!

I had to make a video for my students to show them how to read my comments. I hope this is an update SOON where students can view comments on work sent back more easily.

I didn't realize this either. So often when I send back an activity, I send it back with comments about what to review/revise. I'd like the comments attached to the activity in the student's activity feed.

I just learned about this today and passed it along to others who were also very disappointed that the Journal view and Activity view are not equal in this regard. That makes it very confusing for students and teachers. It's not an effective or efficient workflow - something Seesaw usually does quite well at.

Has this been fixed?..... Only find was "go to Ellipses" ...    click on Copy and Edit       Add my own text box right over there work, give instructions including to delete this when done and then hit the "send back".

I am sort of aghast that I didn't figure out this problem sooner. All along I have been thinking "Why aren't they using my comments to revise?!" Has anyone created a video they are willing to share?

Yes, I made a video and posted it for my students in their Seesaw inbox. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sap0S8g_uenzurSlKtWDPjB_rp9gmg6k/view?usp=sharing

It might be helpful if the comments were on the top of the activity rather than the bottom.

Yes.  They need to see the comments so that they can make corrections to their work before resubmitting it.

Yes! I frequently have students return their work without any corrections because they don't see me comments.

I would suggest to Seesaw that they update their program so that teachers can review and make markings and comments directly on student work before returning it to them.Especially if it can be made in a way that only allows the teacher to remove the marking and comment that they make. That way the student can see it automatically on the page when they open it up and when they resubmit it, I can see what I noted before and what has been addressed.
