Embedding Videos

I think we should be able to embed videos directly into Seesaw without having to go to another tab. This would be really helpful for kinders just learning the app. They won't have to worry about going back and forth between a "youtube video" and the activity the teacher wants them to complete.

  • We need to figure this out too. How can we embed stories from our reading series to seesaw? Younger kids need not be having 2-3 tabs open. It's not feasible for them to be independent if they have to go to more than one site.

  • We would love this, too.  When the links open in youtube, there are many that get sidetracked and because of district filters purify and other sites like that end up blocking the video. Embedding would be great!

  • I recommend everyone go to "CONTACT US" at the top of the screen and submit the request for this feature there. It doesn't seem like these Community forums get monitored by Seesaw staff (at least I have yet to see a post where a Seesaw staff member responds).

  • Would love to see the ability to embed a Vimeo or YouTube video. These video platforms have ready-made embeddable links and it would make the student experience SO much easier not to have to leave Seesaw to go watch a teaching video from a video hosting site!

Seesaw's video uploading feature is great - but limited size, due to Seesaw not being focused primarily on video hosting, means high quality teaching videos have to be cut or reduced in quality in order to fit Seesaw's upload size restrictions. The best solution here is allowing videos that teachers already host on another platform to be embedded so students don't have to leave Seesaw to watch a video.
