  • Great idea. I have a mixed year group class so that would be easier that setting up two separate classes.

  • Sam- I love any group features!  Could you help me understand what you mean by explaining this a bit more to share how what you are looking for is different than assigning an activity to a specific set of students?

    Thanks, Kristin

  • Thanks so much for responding.

    My example

At reading time I have four reading groups. I want to set each group a different task each day. At the moment I have to tick the names of each child each time - this is a pain! (I know I could set them in classes but this is too tricky for kids as they would have a different reading, writing, maths, topic etc class).

What I'd love is to have a system like the folders where I assigned children to a group and then assign a task to that specific group.

It would be a HUGE asset to Seesaw - I think every New Zealand teacher would agree as this is the way we teach here!

  • Hi Pam,

That example helped, thank you.  Yes, indeed, a way to "preserve" a group would be handy!

  • I would love this feature so I can assign my intervention group modified assignments quickly. I also don't want to accidentally miss a student while I'm trying to check all the right names.

  • I would love this feature as I have a 100% online group and a hybrid AB group. They get different assignments on different days, so having groups would help me to be more efficient with assigning activities. Also, it would allow me to send messages to only my Online families and only my hybrid group families.

  • I would also very much like this feature as I have two cohorts this year and am constantly selecting kids to assign things to. Being able to make groups would be very helpful!

  • Hi everyone,

So were you able to find a way to create groups within the same class for assigning homework separately to each group?

  • I am just adding my voice, that having the ability to group students within a class to assign certain activities to certain groups would be a huge upgrade. Both in terms of ease of use and reducing room for error. Besides the reading groups example, I am responsible for a revolving door of virtual kids do to quarantines. If I could have a folder to assign to all virtual kids, and could take kids in and out of that group, instead of having to remember which kids are virtual and if a new kid becomes virtual I have to go through and assign things to them. If I could just add them to the group "virtual kids" they would automatically have access to all modified for virtual assignments.
