Deleting Activities from Library in Bulk

It would be beneficial to be able to delete/remove activities from my library in bulk opposed to opening up each one individually to do so. Deleting should be similar to deleting files: click the box on each one then delete.

  • I agree.  I'm moving from 2nd grade to 4th grade and many of the activities I've used in the past are not applicable for my new grade level.  But in distance learning, my grade level teammates shared activities with each other during our 3 months of distance learning.  When I try to remove them from my library, I'm coached to "unpublish" them from the shared library.  But I worry that if I do that my former 2nd-grade teachers will lose access to that activity which they may want to use for their new 2nd graders.  I used Seesaw differently when we were actually in the brick and mortar school building.  With distance learning, I have vast amounts of activities that I will not need for my new grade level.

  • I had close to 500 activities in my library and I need to get rid of many of them I have been deleting them one at a time which is taking forever -is there an easy way to delete multiple activities quickly? I have asked in my Seesaw classes and been told no so hoping the design team will come up with a plan.  This year we want to create many of our own that fit with our required way of teaching many subject areas. We will be full distance learning soon and want to get started creating and planning. Many thanks for any assistance on this.

  • I agree as well. A lot of the activites I created on my computer, then uploaded the files to Seesaw. I am starting a fresh school year and it is taking a lot of time to individually delete the activities I no longer need.

  • My school has also asked me to contact Seesaw about this as well - I am hoping we will be able to find a quicker solution than having to delete each item individually..!

  • The inability to mass delete activities is almost enough for me to stop using Seesaw. When I inquired about how to delete them and was told that I must do the timely 5-step process, I almost lost my mind. I too, have over 400 activities and because I am a Basic Customer, I can't do anything other than assign in real time (no scheduling). It would take hours to delete them all. I was informed that their "engineers" are currently working on some features that could be added to the platform. I sure hope that this is one of them!! I was encouraged to make a post because they read these comments. So.......if you're listening, Seesaw - WE NEED AN EASIER WAY TO DELETE OUR ACTIVITIES!!!!  Please and Thank you.

  • Because so many districts switched unexpectedly last spring to 100% digital learning and there was limited training, we were using Seesaw very ineffectively.

Now that we are starting a new year as more seasoned Seesaw users who also have learned more effective ways to deliver educational lessons, much of what we created last year is not valid for the new school year ---- especially with all the improvements Seesaw has made this summer.   And if you have been shifted to a different grade, which many teachers were because of hybrid learning models, it is certainly not needed!

We need to delete irrelevant activities so we can more easily find the materials we want to use this year.  (i.e.  The addition of being able to put many different media links on one page means many multiple page Seesaw activities or multiple related Seesaw activities from last year are no longer needed.)

Please rush this development.  For those of us who need organization shifting through all our created activities and painstakingly deleting one at a time is really, really hard and time-consuming.

While I am one person requesting here, my entire school is asking.   I am our schools' rep on requests to Seesaw.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give to this issue.

  • Yes! I was very disappointed to find that I could no longer save/create new activities in order to prepare for the beginning of the year. And to find that there still is no faster way of removing unnecessary activities. My #1 complaint with Seesaw is the multiple, time-consuming steps required for many of the site functions. It seems like such a little thing, but when you are suddenly teaching 30 students on this platform (creating activities, responding to student work, differentiating, etc.) it creates quite a workload issue.

  • PLEASE help us delete in a quicker fashion.  It is so tedious to open, delete, and confirm each one.

I am frequently locked out with 500 activities, because I just do not have time to delete.

  • I agree with there needing to be a bulk delete. I also think their should be a bulk archive. I find myself annoyed that my school pays for the premium subscription and things take so long to get up dated even with so many people voting on a particular need. I do love what seesaw has to offer, but when I make suggestions to Class Dojo which is 100% free, I feel like they are so much quicker at responding. I have made suggestions and they have contacted me directly to see how they can improve on features.

  • Please, please, PLEASE give us a bulk delete option for activities. I am in a hybrid district, and many times have to assign two different versions of an activity, so my library is filling up incredibly quickly, and it is so time-consuming to have to go through 5 clicks to get one activity deleted.

  • I teach 3 grade levels and need to be able to delete multiple activities at once since I frequently find myself hitting my content limit. It is incredibly aggravating to spend hours deleting and archiving activities when my time would be much better spent actually prepping/creating lessons for my kids!

  • My free trial is over and my district hasn't provided our district license yet. I can't create new activities. And I can't have a fellow teacher create it and share it because I have more than 100 activities in my folders with NO EFFICIENT WAY TO DELETE THEM. Please, please, please correct this functionality deficiency.

  • I agree with all of the teachers who want a feature that enables users to delete activities in a more efficient manner.  The process now is very tedious and time consuming.

  • I 100% agree with everyone who already commented. Deleting activities takes a ridiculous amount of time and I am already working MANY more hours remote teaching than I do when I am in person. Step it up Seesaw!!!

  • I agree! It's very difficult to stay organized with the current method!

  • Yes! This definitely needs improvement. The worst part is that each time I delete an activity I then have to click “view all” and then scroll down to where I want to be. I would even be happy if after I deleted an activity it took be back to where I was in my listing of activities.

  • Yes! I definitely agree! Older activities need to deleted quickly and efficiently, not one at a time.

  • Yes! Please, a simple 'Select all' or check/uncheck box function would be great. Opening each one individually is so time consuming.

  • Yes, we have reached our 500 activity limit and my colleagues are all very frustrated at how long it is taking them to delete old activities which they no longer need. Surely it can be straightforward to add a feature which allows you to select several activities and delete them all at once? Please. We are begging you good people of Seesaw.

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add a batch delete as soon as possible. Because many of us have accounts that are limited (and districts that refuse to pay for higher level accounts), we have to constantly delete activities. This is really difficult and frustrating.

  • I agree with all of the other teachers. We have limited time and having to open each assignment in order to delete it is time consuming and tedious. Please add a bulk delete feature. Much thanks.

  • Idea posted May 28 , 2020.

It's now 29 July 2021. That's a good amount of time to address this functionality I think. Would  be so helpful.

  • Are we completely on our own here? That's not possible, not even an answer.

  • I too agree that it would benefit all users if we could delete in bulk. It is very time consuming and hard to delete one at a time. I love the platform but this seems like it could be an easy fix. Please respond if you all are working on this for the platform.
