What is a quick code? Do I need to use one?

Some teachers may decide to relate skills to a specific academic standard.  Some standards have a code associated with it, kind of like an abbreviation for a specific standard. For example in the US Common Core, the benchmarks for each standard are designated by a letter and number code. These codes refer to the grade, strand, standard, arts area, and benchmark. Some teachers might find it useful to add a quick code if they need to refer back to them for other reporting purposes. If you choose to add a quick code, these codes will always appear next to the name of your skill.
