Activity idea: Pull several books from the school library and teach your lesson on genres. If you need more info about different literary genres, check out this article.
Students will use the camera tool to capture a photo of the cover of two or three books. Next, have them use the drawing tool to label the books to the appropriate genre. Your reach group can use the audio tool to explain why each book fits a genre and go into more detail. This lesson can be broken up by days if you teach about a different genre over time.
Tip for Teachers/Students: If you have student comments ON - split your class into small groups and have students publish a photo of the cover of one book. In the comments, other students can make their predictions on genre and the publishing student can peer review back to their small group in the comments. You will want to model positive comments and feedback with the whole class first. If you have a ITC, TA, or Admin, they would be good choices to help with your first class comments.
