How to modify Seesaw Library tasks

Audience: Teachers

Seesaw makes it possible to edit existing activities from the Seesaw Library. Teachers are able to edit all kinds of things, such as the activity name, template, instructions, teacher notes, who it is assigned to, as well as folders.  Below, learn how to customize Activity templates in the Creative Canvas. 

How to edit Activities
  1. In the Seesaw Library, find a lesson you want to use and tap Save to save to My Library.Seesaw Library interface showing a saved lesson titled 'Light' under the STEAM category.   3. Tap the [...] 3 dots menu on the Activity you want to edit and select Edit Activity.Selected Seesaw activity titled Blend. The three dots menu is open, highlighting Edit Activity.

  4. In the Edit Activity screen, tap on the template.

  5. Once in the template, you can add, remove, or edit any of the elements on the Creative Canvas, such as audio, video, photos, and more. Learn how below!

How to edit audio in an Activity
  1. Tap on the text or image you want to edit the audio of, so that the [...] 3 dots menu appears.

  2. Tap Unlock.

  3. Once unlocked, tap [...] on that text or image again.
  4. Tap on Voice.

  5. The existing audio will appear. Tap the trash can to delete it.

  6. Tap Record Voice to record your audio.

  7. When finished, tap the green Check.

  8. Tap the green Check on that text or image, and select Lock. Choose Lock All if you don’t want students to move the text or object, or select Lock Size if you want students to be able to move the object, but not change the size.

  9. Your new audio is now available. 
How to edit video in an Activity 
  1. Tap on the video you want to replace, so that the [...] 3 dots menu appears.
  2. Tap Unlock.

  3. Once unlocked, tap the [...] 3 dots menu on that text or image again.
  4. Tap the bin icon to delete the video.

  5. Tap the camera icon to expand to view the video icon.

  6. Record your video.
  7. When finished, tap the green Tick.
  8. Drag and drop your video where you want it placed.
  9. Select Lock from the [...] 3 dots menu. Choose Lock All if you don’t want students to move the text or object, or select Lock Size if you want students to be able to move the object, but not change the size.
  10. Your new video is now available.
How to edit photos in an Activity 
  1. Tap on the image you want to edit, so that the [...] 3 dots menu appears.
  2. Tap Unlock.

  4. Tap the bin icon to delete the photo.
  5. Tap the camera icon to either take a photo or upload a photo.
